October 16, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 22 years, $277 bn has been invested in Türkiye's transport & communications infrastructure.
ABC.AZ reports quoting Turkish Minister of Transport & Infrastructure Abdulkadir Urologu as saying this during his speech at the World Road Conference in Istanbul.
He added that in order to turn Türkiye into a global center in the aviation sector, in 2002, the number of operating 26 airports was increased to 58 with the commissioning of the Chukurov International Airport.
"Currently, flights are operated from Türkiye to 347 regions of 131 countries around the world. By the end of this year, the number of foreign flight points will be increased to 349. In order to control the impact of airports on the environment, a carbon-free airport project was launched in the country in 2020," the minister said.
