Honda may return motorcycles with sidecars

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. A patent recently obtained by Honda may bring back the mass use of sidecars to motorcycles, which were abandoned almost by all manufacturers of motorcycles.

ABC.AZ reports that the patent outlines innovative approaches that can make the movement of a motorcycle with a side trailer safer and driving more comfortable.

In older versions of motorcycles with sidecars, there was an asymmetric layout and uneven weight distribution, which was the reason for yawing and the possibility of overturning during turns. The idea of Honda engineers is to use special brackets connecting the motorcycle and the sidecar. They will be equipped with load sensors, and information from them will be transmitted to the control unit in the wheelchair.

Perhaps Honda will one day implement the patent after all - but then the question arises about how much demand there will be for motorcycles with a side trailer.
