October 3, Fineko/abc.az. For the first time, Chinese Coast Guard ships patrolled the Arctic Ocean together with Russian vessels.

ABC.AZ reports that during the mission, the Chinese side tested its capabilities in unfamiliar waters and expanded the scope of ocean operations.

The Northern Sea Route has become an important route for transportation of raw materials to Asia. Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the volume of traffic has increased, but growth is being held back by Russia's lack of modern icebreakers.
