October 3, Fineko/abc.az. BMW and other automakers urge the German authorities to oppose the introduction of protective duties on Chinese electric vehicles.
ABC.AZ reports that BMW CEO Oliver Zipse said that these customs duties would harm European manufacturers operating in the Chinese market. Earlier, Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Kallenius and Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume expressed a similar point of view.
On October 4, the EU countries will vote for final imposition of duties of up to 45% in total on Chinese electric cars. In order for the duties not to be approved, 15 countries must speak out against them.
