October 1, Fineko/abc.az. Mark Rutte, Jens Stoltenberg's successor as NATO Secretary General, will officially assume his powers and take up his duties on Tuesday.
ABC.AZ reports that the handover ceremony will take place at the headquarters of the Alliance in Brussels. Rutte is expected to maintain Stoltenberg's priorities in the Alliance. Speech is about supporting Ukraine, pushing NATO countries to increase defense spending and involving the U.S. in European security.
Rutte, who resigned as prime minister of the Netherlands this year after 14 years in office, is a strong supporter of Ukraine.
The media previously reported that Stoltenberg will become the head of the Munich Security Conference.
