Cargo potential of Baku Trade Port grows

September 27, Fineko/abc.az. The cargo turnover of the Baku International Sea Trade Sea Port currently stands at 15 million tons, and work is underway to bring it to 25 million tons.

ABC.AZ reports that Shahin Ismayilov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, made this statement during his speech at the 2nd Economic Forum of the member states of the Azerbaijan-Persian Gulf Cooperation Council in Baku.

He noted that over the past 20 years, enough investments have been made in the transport sector of Azerbaijan: "At the same time, both international and local projects have been implemented. With the expansion of the fleet of sea and road transport, the Caspian Shipping Company has the largest joint fleet of 54 vessels in the region. The opening of the Zangezur corridor will also play a special role for carriers. 2 airports have been put into operation in the territories liberated from occupation, and construction of one continues."
