September 24, Fineko/abc.az. The issues of creating a portal providing for digitalization of car rental operations in Azerbaijan were discussed, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport.

The initiative aimed at eliminating the difficulties of entrepreneurs and creating favorable conditions for the car rental business was discussed at a meeting of the Thematic Group "On Regulating and stimulating the activities of car rental companies", created as part of the ‘Tourism Development’ Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment & International Ratings.

The meeting, held in online format, was attended by the head of the Secretariat of the Commission, head of the sector for monitoring, coordination and evaluation of economic reforms of the Department of Economic Policy & Industry of the Presidential Administration Vusal Shikhaliyev, head of the ‘Tourism Development’ Working Group, head of the staff of the State Tourism Agency Kenan Gasimov, head of the Thematic Group, Head of the Transport Policy Department Fariz Aliyev, representatives of other governmental agencies and the private sector. The meeting participants discussed improvement of the car rental sector. They stressed importance of increasing transparency and efficiency of business entities working in this area, as well as creating favorable business environment.
