September 23, Fineko/abc.az. General Motors and the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have announced a large-scale recall campaign.
ABC.AZ reports that the campaign will affect about 450,000 cars of three brands, which may not have a low brake fluid warning lamp.
If brake fluid leaks, the electronic brake control module on a number of models may not turn on the warning indicator.
This is most typical for cars that have previously been involved in minor accidents. Repairs at service centers will be reduced to updating the software of the control unit.
The service campaign includes, for example, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, as well as Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban SUVs, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade. All cars were released in 2023 and 2024.
In the middle of summer, Toyota also discovered a problem with pickups and SUVs, but its solution will cost the manufacturer much more by 102,000. Toyota Tundra and Lexus LX will replace the engines: mechanical debris could get into the regular engines during assembly.
