August 26, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's interest in Japanese automobiles has sharply declined since the first half of 2024.

ABC.AZ reports that car importers in Azerbaijan brought in a total of 5,358 passenger cars from Japan during the first six months of 2024, marking a significant 32% decrease compared to the same period last year.

In contrast, during the first half of 2023, the import volume stood at 7,916 passenger cars.

Azerbaijan paid a total of $88.93 million for the imported cars in the first half of 2024, a substantial decrease from the $139.38 million spent during the same period in 2023.

Azerbaijan opted for Chinese cars in the Asian market this year.
