August 23, Fineko/abc.az. German automaker Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) has overtaken Tesla Inc. in sales for the first time in July.

ABC.AZ reports that, according to the analytical company Jato Dynamics, BMW's sales of fully electric vehicles in the region surged by more than a third last month, reaching 14,869 units. In contrast, Tesla's sales declined by 16% to 14,561 units.

While Tesla still maintains its leading position in Europe in terms of the total number of electric vehicles sold since the beginning of the year, it is increasingly losing ground to companies like BMW and Volvo Car AB.

However, the overall sales of new electric vehicles in Europe in July declined by 6% compared to the same period last year, with a total of 139,300 units sold.
