July 22, Fineko/abc.az. Electric car manufacturer Tesla plans to use humanoid robots on its assembly lines in 2025 and will begin mass production of them for sale to other companies a year later, ABC.AZ reports, quoting company’s founder Elon Musk.
"Next year, Tesla will have really useful humanoid robots, their number for internal use by Tesla will be small. In 2026, we hope to launch mass production [of robots] for other companies," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Musk announced on June 14 that in 2025 Tesla will put into operation several thousand robots at the company's enterprises. The businessman put forward the idea of producing a humanoid robot in August 2021. The project was named Optimus, the model will be as tall as a person and will be able to lift a weight of about 20 kg.
