First Turkish communications satellite launched into orbit

July 9, Fineko/abc.az. SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle on Monday, which will deliver Turkish communications satellite Turksat 6A into orbit. The broadcast is conducted on company's website.

ABC.AZ reports that the launch from the Cape Canaveral cosmodrome was carried out on July 8 at 19:30 East coast time (3:30 on Baku time).

Turksat 6A satellite, according to Turkish authorities, will open the Southeast Asian market to the country and will provide services to 4.5 billion people.

Turkey has been actively developing its space program since the early 2000s, although it launched its first satellite back in 1994. It has launched nine communications satellites into orbit, as well as Earth observation research vehicles equipped with various sensors and sensors. The country continues to develop military satellites, and has also sent its astronaut into space as part of the Axiom 3 mission.
