June 13, Fineko/abc.az. From 2000 to the present, Germany has written off a total of €15.8 bn of debt from 52 countries.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant information was distributed by the German Ministry of Finance.

The largest debt that Germany has written off is the debt of Iraq in the amount of €4.7 bn.

As a result of the agreements reached, Nigeria's debt in the amount of €2.4 bn was written off, and Cameroon's in the amount of €1.4 bn.

The Ministry also announced that 70 countries and regions owe Germany a total of €12.2 bn by the end of 2023.
