March 14, Fineko/abc.az. On March 16, from 01:00, terrestrial test TV broadcasting of DVB-T2 standard of 2nd generation begins on the territory of Baku city and the Absheron Peninsula through the Baku TV Tower Complex, ABC.AZ reports, quoting the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport.
This is aimed at introducing higher-quality television broadcasting in our country, taking into account the trend of integration and development of terrestrial TV broadcasting in new technologies in the countries of the world.
The test broadcast will be carried out in HD format on the 34th (578 MHz frequency) and 37th (602 MHz frequency) TV channels.
In order to preserve the possibility of receiving terrestrial TV broadcasting by a group of the population with receivers that do not support the DVB-T2 standard during the trial period, television broadcasting in SD format in the DVB-T standard will continue on the 48th (690 MHz) TV channel.
