February 12, Fineko/abc.az. Toyota Motor officials have announced their intention to launch an autonomous taxi service that will transport passengers in the Daiba area starting in the summer of 2024.

ABC.AZ reports that activity of such taxis will be tested for the first time in Japan.

Daiba, located on the shores of Tokyo Bay, is considered one of Tokyo's tourist attractions. The automaker plans to provide free transportation for guests of the region along a pre-determined route.

A Toyota Sienna minivan will be used for transportation, equipped with special sensors and artificial intelligence technology that allows real-time monitoring of road conditions and predicting dangerous situations.
