February 8, Fineko/abc.az. In Azerbaijan, a ticket for free car parking is issued only at the address where the citizen is registered.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) that a citizen cannot receive a coupon if he is not registered at the address of residence or if he does not have an extract from the house in which he lives.

"In relation to an Azerbaijani citizen, the place of residence is determined only by an identity card. The procedure for allocating and using a free parking space is reflected in the “Form of individual parking tickets, as well as the procedure for issuing them”, approved by Cabinet’s Resolution #187. According to Article 1 of the Law on Registration at the Place of Residence & Location, Azerbaijani citizens, foreigners and stateless persons must be registered in our country at their place of residence and the location. Therefore, the issuance of an individual parking ticket to persons who are not registered at their place of residence and location is contrary to the law," the statement says.

Under law, people can get the right to free parking within 100 m through mobile application Azparking.
