January 31, Fineko/abc.az. On January 31, a resolution of the Cabinet Ministers approved the amount of the fee for the disposal of vehicles, the amount of the benefit applied to the vehicle transferred for disposal, and the amount of a lump sum payment.
ABC.AZ reports that according to transport expert Eldaniz Jafar, the main goal of this program is to improve the ecosystem and upgrade the car fleet.
"Our country has set itself the goal of becoming a country of environment and green growth in the near future. To achieve this goal, one of the main tasks is to remove old cars from circulation in order to reduce the amount of harmful gases emitted into the atmosphere. The recycling program is conducted on a voluntary basis. After a while, it may happen that the cost of cars will increase slightly. So, if there is an increase in duties during import, this affects prices."
Under the decision, when registering automobiles with release date from 4 to 7 years, a fee of 400 manats will be charged, and with release date of 7 years or more — 700 manats. For cars available in the country, at each state technical inspection, a fee of 10 manats will be charged for cars with release date from 4 to 10 years, 20 manats for cars with release date from 10 to 20 years, 30 manats for cars with release date from 20 to 30 years and 40 manats for cars with release date from 30 years and more.
