Every 3rd citizen of Azerbaijan applying for a visa to U.S. is refused

January 30, Fineko/abc.az. Every 3rd of the persons from Azerbaijan, wishing to visit the U.S. and, accordingly, applying for a visa, is refused.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the latest data, in 2023, 36% of applicants for a visa to the U.S. Embassy were refused a visa.

Among the former Soviet republics, the best situation with a visa to the U.S. is in the Baltic states, especially in Latvia – only 9% of visa applicants receive a refusal here, and for 91% - a positive response.

Lithuania refuses to issue a visa to 13.4% and Estonia to 16.2%. The rest manage to successfully obtain a visa.

And among the CIS countries, the best situation with visas to the U.S. is in Belarus. Although the political relations between the U.S. and Belarus are quite tense, it is easier for Belarusian citizens to obtain a visa to the U.S. than in any other republic – the percentage of refusals of a visa to the U.S. in this country is only 33%. Azerbaijan ranks next in terms of ease of obtaining a visa, followed by Russia – the strained relations of our northern neighbor with the U.S. did not prevent Russians from obtaining a visa — out of every 100 people, 61 people were able to obtain a visa.

41.4% of Kyrgyz citizens applying for a visa at the U.S. Embassy, 41.9% of Kazakh citizens, 42.4% of Moldovans receive a visa refusal.
