January 16, Fineko/abc.az. "In 2020, the population of Baku amounted to 2.63 million people," ABC.AZ reports, quoting deputy chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning & Architecture Ilgar Isbatov.

He said that the additional 300,000 were students, internally displaced persons and residents of other districts of the country, living in the capital: "The issue of natural population growth was different. Thus, in 2010, growth in Baku amounted to 1.014% per year, by 2020 this figure decreased to 0.75%. Not only here, but all over the world, there is decline in the issue of population growth. We noted in the report 3.7 million inhabitants, taking annual increase of 0.75. Taking into account additional 100,000 people, in the final report we presented the Baku population as 3.17 million people."
