December 22, Fineko/abc.az. Freight transport parks (TIR-parks) will be created in Azerbaijan on the basis of public-private partnership.

ABC.AZ reports that the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) under the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport has already begun preparations in this regard.

At least 3 model projects for the creation of TIR-parks will be prepared. In order to expand the use of TIR-parks, modern information and communication technologies will be used. In this direction, a conceptual study of highways M-1 (Baku-Guba-state border with the Russian Federation), M-2 (Baku-Alat-Gazakh-state border with Georgia), M-3 (Alat-Astara-state border with the Islamic Republic of Iran), M-4 (Baku-Shemakha-Yevlakh), M-5 (Yevlakh-Zagatala-state border with Georgia), M-6 (Hajigabul-Bahramtepe-Minjivan-state border with Armenia).

In TIR-parks, it will be possible to reserve a parking space, a car dealership, a gas station, repairs, parking spaces for dangerous, bulky and heavy goods, a hotel, medical care, Internet, cargo security, ATMs and payment terminals, a sauna, a sanitary center and other services. Fees for the use of services will be formed in the parks.

In this regard, a survey will be conducted of at least 100 drivers (at least 70% of whom are foreign drivers) engaged in international and domestic freight transportation, and the problems and expectations they face will be studied. Proposals on the formation of legislation on TIR-parks will be prepared.
