Hyundai Motor puts its factory in Russia up for sale

December 19, Fineko/abc.az. The Hyundai Motor’s Board of Directors has held an extraordinary meeting on the sale of the plant in Russia.

ABC.AZ reports, citing the foreign press, that at the meeting the Board of Directors approved the sale of its plant in St. Petersburg. The company said it will continue after-sales service and other customer support in Russia.

The Hyundai plant in Russia has been inactive since March 2022. Previously, models of Hyundai Solaris and Creta cars, as well as Kia Rio and Rio X were assembled there.

In September 2023, the Ministry of Industry & Trade announced that the automaker's plant would be acquired by a Russian company. The contract will be concluded with a two-year purchase option.
