December 18, Fineko/abc.az. Work is underway in Azerbaijan to improve the existing non-cash payment system in order to provide access to all types of means of payment in public transport.

ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Gummetov said about this at the presentation of the Mobility Transformation Program in Azerbaijan.

He pointed out that after updating the system, it will be possible to make payments through all bank cards and mobile devices that support contactless technology:

"Starting from next month, payment by bank card will be tested on several routes. After the tests, it is planned to begin the preliminary introduction of the new payment system at the end of Q1 of 2024."
