December 14, Fineko/abc.az. The cargo transportation by sea in Azerbaijan increased by 23% in the first three quarters of 2023.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 6.95 million tons of cargo were carried in the first three quarters of the year.

The country's maritime transport reached 6.15 million tons of transit cargo for the reported term.

Currently, Azerbaijan has increased oil purchases in Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, and oil is actively transported in this direction. During the reported term, 3.92 million tons of oil were transported (65% of the annual increase).

Revenues from cargo transportation of ships for this period amounted to 255.94 million mantas (46% more than a year earlier). In the first 9 months of 2022, the country's courts earned 175.6 million manats.
