November 22, Fineko/abc.az. Automaker Ford Motor has resumed the construction of an electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility in Marshall, Michigan, suspended 2 months ago because of a strike by the automotive industry workers' union.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to MarketWatch that because of slowdown in sales of electric cars, the company decided to reduce the planned number of jobs at the plant by about a third to 1,700 from 2,500.

As a result, the company will be able to annually produce batteries for 230,000 electric vehicles against the previously planned 400,000.

Initially, the cost of the plant, which was named Blue Oval Battery Park Michigan, was estimated at $3.5 billion. Its opening is scheduled for 2026.
