November 21, Fineko/abc.az. Preliminary contacts have already begun with Iran in the direction of restoring transport lines between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and other territories of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Department for Foreign Policy of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev said this in an interview with journalists.

He noted that the work in this direction is being carried out by the relevant ministers:

"That is, the practical work has begun. The construction of transport lines that will pass through the territory of Iran to Nakhchivan by means of bridges to be built across the Araz River in Zangilan and Agbend continues. Unfortunately, over the past 3 years, Armenia has not taken serious steps to build and promote these communications. We also cannot wait for Armenia to make a decision. As you can see, new opportunities are emerging in the Middle Corridor, and we need to properly assess them and establish connections."
