November 16, Fineko/abc.az. The issue of creating cargo terminals in the free economic zone Alat has been agreed with investors.

ABC.AZ reports that Valeh Aleskerov, the chairman of board of Alat FEZ authorized organization, at the II Baku Forum "Sustainable Financing & Investments".

He added that implementation of projects in this direction has already begun: "It is expected that cargo terminals will start functioning from 2026. At the initial stage, 500,000 tons of cargo a year will be transported through them, and in the future this volume will increase to about 1.5 million tons. Considering the number of investors, we are ready to carry out construction work on the territory of the FEZ with an area of 138 hectares."

Aleskerov stressed that FEZ Alat is ready to consider all proposals, but priority will be given to those investors who are focused on export production and apply innovative technologies.

"At least 75% of their products should be exported. This is done so that small businesses do not focus on the local market," Aleskerov added.
