November 7, Fineko/abc.az. Construction of the first deep-water port in Georgia in Anaklia settlement will begin in March or April 2024, ABC.AZ reports, quoting Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
"The selection of an investor is actively underway, and will be completed soon. We will announce the winning investor no later than December-January. And we will jointly begin the construction of the port of Anaklia in March or April 2024, we have about such a plan," Garibashvili stated.
Construction of the new port began in December 2017, but was suspended. The Georgian authorities decided to resume the construction of the port of Anaklia with the condition that the state will own 51%.
