November 4, Fineko/abc.az. The receipt by a citizen of a legal salary and the payment of social insurance is the main factor influencing the growth of pensions.

ABC.AZ reports that Minister of Labor & Social Protection Sahil Babayev said this during the discussion of the Package of the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024 at a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis Committees on Labor & Social Policy, Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

He noted that work in this area will continue: "The absolute figures today are less than the figures that we would like to have. Work related to employment has been activated. 500,000 unemployed people have been employed through employment centers. There was a problem with the placement of vacancies by employers on the electronic portal. Over the past 5 years, more than 700,000 vacancies have been posted on the electronic portal. I believe these numbers will grow in the coming years."

Babayev stated that he is against encouraging people to become unemployed: "Unemployment insurance is paid to people who have worked for a certain period of time. The main principle here is that a person who has left work can receive these funds if he remains unemployed against his will. Otherwise, it turns out that we encourage them to unemployment. Next, we reduce the length of the insurance period from 30 months to 24 months. If a person with 24 months of insurance experience becomes unemployed against his will, he will be able to receive unemployment benefits. Previously, this period was 3 years. Next year we plan to make insurance payments of about 15 million manats."
