October 24, Fineko/abc.az. In 2028, phased shutdown of analog radio broadcasting will begin on the territory of Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the Action Plan on introduction & development of digital radio broadcasting in the territory of Azerbaijan.

In 2027, 99.6% of country's territory will be covered by digital radio broadcasting.

The regulatory legal acts necessary for transition to digital radio broadcasting will be prepared by 2026. At that, by 2026, DAB+ digital radio broadcasting will cover about 70% of cities, district centers and highways.

In accordance with the plan on transition to digital broadcasting, if necessary, changes will be made to the appropriate infrastructure, the necessary equipment for transmitting devices of DAB+ systems will be installed. To ensure the stability of digital broadcasting, single-frequency (synchronous) networks will be created.

The purpose of transition to digital radio broadcasting is the effective use of frequency resources and providing the population with better radio broadcasting.
