October 11, Fineko/abc.az. The Franchising Association of Azerbaijan is working to open charging stations for electric vehicles at gas stations in the country.
ABC.AZ reports that Association’s chairman of board Jamid Movsumov said about this.
"To this end, we are negotiating with companies from Türkiye and the UK. We have provided for placement of chargers at gas stations," he noted.
According to Movsumov, investors are interested in opening charging stations: "We plan to create this infrastructure, especially in regions. That is, we want to cover entire Azerbaijan. This will give serious impetus to expansion of the use of electric vehicles," he added.
At the initial stage, it is planned to invest $3 million in the installation of charging stations at gas stations in Baku: "Gradually this amount will increase. The installation of each station costs $200,000. Initially, we planned to cover eight gas stations in Baku. And investments in the regions will amount to about $1.5 - $2 million."
