October 2, Fineko/abc.az. Since October 1, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs wishing to engage in passenger and cargo transportation by road must carry out activity on the basis of appropriate permits. Permits are issued by the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) for the period of 7 years. According to the requirement of the legislation, persons carrying out irregular passenger and cargo transportation within the country will be given a pass certificate free of charge.

ABC.AZ was informed about this at the Azerbaijani Land Transport Agency.

According to the amendments to the Law on Road Transport, technical indicators, internal and external design of vehicles used for passenger transportation by passenger car taxi must comply with the requirements approved by the Cabinet Ministers.

In accordance with Cabinet Ministers’ Resolution from September 4, 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport, in coordination with other relevant governmental bodies, was tasked to submit to the Cabinet Ministers within 4 months technical indicators, requirements for internal and external design of vehicles used for passenger transportation by passenger taxi, as well as proposals for the list of unnamed data, transmitted by taxi order operators in real time for each taxi order, including information about the driver in order to monitor compliance with the work and rest modes of the driver. The relevant requirements developed by the Ministry are currently in the process of being coordinated with the relevant State bodies.

AYNA will issue access cards to vehicles used in taxi passenger transportation that meet the approved technical indicators, requirements for internal and external layout.
