September 25, Fineko/abc.az. Shell has opened the world's largest electric vehicle charging station, which is located in Shenzhen, China.

ABC.AZ reports that the charging station is located about 2.5 km from the Shenzhen Airport Terminal and has 258 fast charging points.

The station is operated by Shenzhen Shell and BYD Electric Vehicle Investment Company Limited, a joint venture of Shell and BYD.

The Shell Recharge power plant serviced more than 3,300 electric vehicles every day during trial operation.

In addition to charging electric vehicles, the station offers Shell Select stores, Shell cafes, vending machines and a rest room for drivers.

Solar panels on the roof installed at the station will be able to generate about 300,000 kWh of renewable electricity a year, which will be used to charge vehicles.
