ABC.AZ reports with reference to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) at the UN, this is 100 million fewer people than in 2022.
"According to the latest data from ITU, the UN agency for technology, in 2023 the number of people in the world who are not connected to the Internet has decreased to about 2.6 billion people. It is estimated that 2.7 billion people were not connected in 2022, and in 2023 this number will decrease, and as a result, 33% of the world's population will still be unable to establish connections, 5.4 billion people, which is 67% of the world's population, are now connected," the ITU said.
According to the organization, the most intensive growth in the number of people connected to the Internet is still observed in low-income countries, where the number of Internet users has increased by about 17% over the past part of the year.
