September 6, Fineko/abc.az. At two stations of Baku Metro CJSC, as a pilot project, payment for travel by QR codes was introduced in a mobile application developed for cashless payment in buses (BakıKart).
ABC.AZ reports that passengers can use QR tickets at metro stations ‘Khojasan’ and ‘November 8’.
To this end, K Group LLC, realizing BakıKart payment system, fulfilled technical work at the automatic checkpoints of the stations (turnstiles), installed software systems and conducted tests in a test mode.
The new method helps expand the possibilities of payment without a card, as well as through electronic devices to improve the quality of passenger service culture.
The application allows saving 2 manats spent on the purchase of a BakıKart plastic card. There is no need to keep a plastic card at hand at all times. All you have to do is have internet access on your mobile phone to create a QR ticket.
QR ticket saves time. A passenger can approach the turnstiles by creating a QR ticket on his mobile device on the go, without going to a special terminal to download funds to a travel plastic card.
In addition, you can also track your payment history when using the mobile app. This will help the passenger to control their monthly budget electronically when using public transport.
At the next stage, the new system will be introduced at two more metro stations of the purple line – ‘Memar Ajemi’ and ‘Bus Station’.
