August 29, Fineko/abc.az. A total of 1,096,600 pensioners were registered with the State Social Protection Fund, which is 10.8% of the country's population as of July 1, 2023.

Of them, 64.1% receive an old-age pension, 23.6% receive disability pension, and 12.3% receive survivor's pension, ABC.AZ reports citing the State Statistics Committee.

Compared to July 1 last year, the total number of registered pensioners decreased by 5.4%. Of this, the number of recipients of a disability pension dropped by 16.4%, the number of recipients of a survivor's pension dropped by 9.7%, and the number of recipients of old-age pension increased by 0.4%.

The average amount of assigned monthly pensions increased by 18.2% compared to the corresponding period of last year and by 16.9% compared to the beginning of this year, amounted to AZN 435.0 and was equal to 47.2% of the average monthly wage.
