August 29, Fineko/abc.az. Toyota Motor has suspended operations at 12 assembly plants in Japan due to a system failure starting Tuesday morning.
ABC.AZ reports that in total 14 enterprises of the auto concern operate in the country.
"12 car factories... are unable to process parts orders due to a system glitch. At this point, we believe this is not a cyberattack," a Toyota spokesman said.
It is not yet known how long it will take to restore the efficiency of enterprises. The exact cause of the incident is also not specified. Shares of Toyota Motor Corporation fell 0.64% amid problems with plants.
Later, Kyodo reported that Toyota Motor will shut down two of its plants in Japan on August 29, which continued to operate after a massive system failure. Thus, during the day, operations will be halted at all the company's enterprises in Japan.
In 2022, Toyota was suspending all factories in Japan after one of its subsidiaries was cyberattacked.
