A fine imposed on Aztelekom and Baktelecom

July 6, Fineko/abc.az. The State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision & Consumer Market Control (under the Ministry of Economy) has made a decision on the case initiated against Aztelekom LLC and Baku Telephone Communications (Baktelecom) owned by the Ministry of Digital Development & Transport in connection with signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Service that earlier the latter filed a case against Aztelekom and Baktelecom on the basis of a study conducted to establish compliance with the requirements of antimonopoly legislation of tariff increases for services rendered to private Internet providers, as well as appeals from some private Internet providers.

In the course of consideration of the case, it was found that the Aztelekom and Baktelecom set tariffs for services identical to those regulated by the state (Tariff Council), in connection with which the requirements of a number of legislative acts were violated.

Under the decision, Aztelekom and Baktelecom were ordered to bring tariffs for services in accord with the requirements of the Laws on Telecommunications and on Regulated Prices, Tariff Council’ decisions, and a fine was imposed on the companies.
