June 19, Fineko/abc.az. A new railway line will be laid from Goradiz to Ordubad, ABC.AZ quotes Turkish Transport & Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu.

"Negotiations will be held between Azerbaijan and Russia regarding the 43-km section of the Armenian part of the line to pass through Zangezur," he said.

Uraloglu added that with opening of Zangezur corridor, the cargo flow of the Middle Corridor by rail and highway will increase, which will positively affect growth of East-West trade turnover.

"The 158-km line from Ordubad to Validag station in the north of Nakhchivan will be overhauled. In addition, the line will be extended by 14 km from Validag to the border with Armenia. Construction works are ongoing on the section of Zangezur corridor to the border with Armenia, a new railway line with length of 166 km from Goradiz to Ordubad district of Nakhchivan will be laid," Uraloglu emphasized.
