May 23, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's space agency Azerkosmos and global satellite operator Intelsat have signed a commercial agreement on joint projects in West Africa.

ABC.AZ reports that using the resources of Azerspace-2 satellite, the operator will render telecommunications and mobile communication services in 17 countries of West Africa with the population of 430 million people.

The coverage area of Azerspace-2 is very convenient for providing telecommunications and mobile communication services in hard-to-reach places in West Africa.

Thus, using the capabilities of Azerspace-2, Intelsat will further expand the geography of service in the African region.

Azerkosmos deputy chairman Fuad Aslanov said that our cooperation with Intelsat, our global partner in the satellite services market, will open up wide opportunities for us in commercial projects on mobile and data services in Africa.
