May 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan transported 5.9 million tons of cargo and 2,077,400 passengers by rail for Jan-Apr 2023, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee.

Compared with Jan-pr 2022, freight traffic grew by 9.4% and passenger traffic by 54.8%.

"On average, 437 wagons were loaded and 417 wagons unloaded daily," the Committee says.

For the reported term 22,200 tons of loading operations were performed daily in the northern direction of the railway, 3,000 tons in the western direction, and 800 tons in the southern direction.
