‘Zangilan’ tanker launched

May 16, Fineko/abc.az. Tanker "Zangilan", built by the resident of the Garadagh Industrial Park - Baku Shipbuilding Plant LLC, which is under the jurisdiction of the Economic Zones Development Agency, has been launched.

ABC.AZ reports that at an event on this occasion, Agency’s chairman of board Elshad Nuriyev said that the ship's hull was built to 100%:

"The rest of the completion work will be continued at the shipyard's berth. For this purpose, the tanker was launched using hydraulic trolleys through a floating dock from the construction and installation site of the plant."

The concept of the ship was developed jointly with experienced specialists of the Odessa Marine Engineering Bureau of Ukraine. This vessel of the Volga-Don Max project has the ability to cross the Volga-Don Canal with maximum carrying capacity. The tanker has length of 141 m, width of 16.9 m and height of 6 m. The vessel, operated by a crew of 15 people, will be able to move at speed of 10 knots per hour. The tanker has 6 cargo tanks with total capacity of 9,212 sq m, designed for transportation of crude oil and petroleum products.
