May 12, Fineko/abc.az. About 1 month ago, in mid-April, communication with Azerbaijani satellite Azerspace in space was interrupted, the satellite ceased its activities.

ABC.AZ reports that after the loss of communication with the satellite, the procedure for insurance compensation for damage was initiated.

Azersky, like other Azerbaijani satellites, is insured. Azersky satellite is insured by PASHA Sığorta. The winner of the tender held in January 2023, PASHA Sığorta, insured Azersky satellite for 45 million mantas for insurance premium of 518,000 manats. Insurance compensation for the incident will also be paid by the specified company.

Azerkosmos’ chairman of board Sameddin Asadov stated that the process of receiving insurance payments will take about 4-6 months.
