May 12, Fineko/abc.az. The Chinese authorities have obliged automaker Tesla to conduct a large-scale recall of its electric vehicles.

ABC.AZ reports that the service campaign will affect 1,104,622 vehicles.

Speech is about both Model 3 and Model Y cars manufactured by the Tesla factory in Shanghai, and electric cars Model X and Model S imported from the USA. All of them were released from January 12, 2019 to April 24, 2023. The recall campaign starts on May 29, 2023.

The reason for the recall was the operation of the energy recovery system, or rather, the driver's lack of the ability to choose the recovery mode. Speech is about braking by the engine, which at the same time acts as a generator and returns some of the energy to the battery. Recovery is activated both by pressing the brake and releasing the accelerator pedal.

Also, Chinese officials considered it dangerous to have no warnings about pressing the accelerator pedal for too long, which may turn out to be accidental. Together, both features can cause accidents, officials say.
