May 11, Fineko/abc.az. The German government will allocate an additional €1 bn to the federal lands in 2023 to help with the reception and accommodation of refugees.

ABC.AZ reports that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said about this at a press conference following the meeting of representatives of the German government and the prime ministers of the regions on the issue of refugees.

After six hours of discussions, the German government and the federal states reached an agreement on financing the costs of housing refugees.

"Our country is facing a serious problem. Of course, speech is about what else can be done, and about understanding today, because in addition to the lump-sum funds that have been provided, another €1 bn has been mobilized," Scholz said.

The funds will go directly to the municipalities hosting refugees.
