May 5, Fineko/abc.az. A direct railway run to Aghdam will open from Baku.
ABC.AZ reports that Tural Abbasli, the head of the Construction Control Department of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, said this in an interview with journalists.
He said that it is planned to build a railway line from Baku to Yevlakh, from Yevlakh to Barda and from Barda to Aghdam:
It was noted that a road from Baku to Yevlakh, from Yevlakh to Barda and from Barda to Aghdam is envisaged:
"The road will be single-lane and currently not electrified. The road will have capacity of up to 10 million tons. With exception of the Aghdam station, the work is planned to be completed by the end of this year. The construction of the Aghdam station will be completed for Jan-Feb 2024."
Department’s head added that the construction of the Barda-Aghdam station began on November 24, 2020 in accord with Presidential Decree #2305: "It is planned to build 47.1 km of railway along the common axis and 57.8 km along the side tracks. 56.9 km of road has already been laid. Currently, 5 side tracks have been laid at the Aghdam station. And 90% of the design work has been completed on the construction."
