May 4, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan provided access to social benefits to 1.7 million people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that this was stated by the World Bank's country manager Sarah Mike during her speech in connection with the report "Protection of human capital from shocks and crises".

Sarah Mike added that progress has been made in the health sector of Azerbaijan during the pandemic.

"Strengthening systems and sustainability are largely interrelated, so investing in human development systems helps both improve the long-term results of human capital and protect people from crises," she said.
