May 4, Fineko/abc.az. Several citizens have applied to the customs authorities due to difficulties.
ABC.AZ reports that one of the applicants is the owner of the cargo company Sahil Jafarov.
He claims that the goods belonging to his company were unreasonably detained by customs and not missed.
Another applicant says that he was unable to remove the parcel belonging to him from the customs territory.
And the applicant Ilgar Mirizade says that upon arrival from Moscow to Baku, he brought with him goods with a total customs value of no more than $800, but his parcel was checked by customs officers. The citizen claims that he paid extra to pick up the brought goods.
Regarding complaints, we have contacted the Main Customs Directorate of Air Transport. The Department has brought clarity in connection with the complaints. It was stated that there are currently no goods under customs control belonging to the applicant, entrepreneur Sahil Jafarov.
In relation to the applicant Ilgar Mirizade, the Department reported that there were inconsistencies in the documents submitted by the citizen to the customs. For this reason, they were sent for research. As a result, it was found that the imported goods do not belong to the category of personal use. By law, a citizen can import goods worth $800 for personal use. But even if these goods do not exceed the limit when they are intended for commercial use, they must be subject to duty.
