May 1, Fineko/abc.az. Microsoft has decided to abandon the release of mice, keyboards and webcams under its own brand.

ABC.AZ reports that the company started producing accessories under its own brand back in 1983.

According to company's senior communications manager Dan Laycock, the manufacturer will continue to offer PC accessories, from mice to docking stations, under the Surface brand, and the stocks of accessories already in stock under Microsoft brand will be sold until the end of their stocks.

There are no webcams in the Surface line, with exception of smart model for $799.99 for conference rooms. However, earlier the company hinted at the possibility of releasing webcams in this series.

The refusal from the previous sales model will possibly lead to disappearance of available ergonomic keyboards. In particular, today Microsoft offers an ergonomic Surface model at the price of $129, while quite comfortable Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard costs $59.99. The company itself does not comment on production plans.
