April 26, Fineko/abc.az. This year sales of electric vehicles will grow by 35% compared with last year to 14 million, and every fifth car sold will be electric, ABC.AZ informs, referring to the report of the International Energy Agency (IEA).

According to the report, last year sales of electric vehicles worldwide increased by 55% against 2021, exceeding 10 million. This is also considered a record.

The share of electric vehicles in total car sales increased to 14%. This figure was 4% and 9% in 2020 and 2021, respectively. At that, spending on electric vehicles last year increased by 50% compared with 2021 to $425 bn.
