Coca-Cola increases mortality rate – Study

April 20, Fineko/abc.az. Coca-Cola is harmful to health and increases the rate of premature mortality, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Harvard University’s survey. Thus, the study has shown a 20% increase of the premature death rate among those who daily consume such carbonated drinks as Coca-Cola.
Scientists report an increased risk of diabetes among those who consume such drinks, and recommend drinking coffee or tea instead. 

Having studied the data of more than 15,000 diabetics, scientists also compared the consumer habits of these people. Scientists who studied those who consumed carbonated and sugary drinks for 18.5 years found that 22% of these people suffered from cardiovascular diseases, and almost half of them died during this time.

It is reported that those who consume sugary and carbonated drinks are 5-fold more likely to die prematurely. There was also a 26% reduction in the risk of premature death among those who drank up to 6 cups of coffee a day. The risk is reduced by 21% among those who drink tea, and by 23% among those who drink water.
